What is NLP?

NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) has been described as the Art and Science of Personal Excellence.

Art, because the way we each think and act is unique to us, and any description of feelings, attitudes and beliefs is bound to be highly subjective and personal.

Science, because it incorporates well researched methods that can be used to identify the patterns of successful behavior and develop those patterns in yourself.

The term NLP came from the three most important elements that define human behavior: Neuro Linguistic Programming

Neuro  - generally refers to our brain as a system that receives, transmits and processes messages and experiences from the external environment through our senses.

Linguistic  - refers to the great importance and usefulness of language, in its broadest sense, as a tool for rendering meanings and expressing experiences. The "language" we use is related to our personal experiences and covers both oral speech (words) and movements and expressions - micro muscle movements.

Programming  - refers to the operating patterns (programs / patterns) that we adopt, to manage the environment in which we move.

Every person experiences, perceives, and gives meaning to their experiences in a unique way. External stimuli captured through the senses are filtered by adding, subtracting and altering elements based on his values, beliefs, and experiences. Thus each of us forms patterns with which he perceives reality and works. These patterns determine the degree to which we move forward, succeed, or struggle.
